1 Timothy 3:16 says, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
Roman 3:1 says, “But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
Mark 4:22 says, “For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.”
Luke 7:36- 50 New International Version
Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman
36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. 37 A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. 38 As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.
39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.”
40 Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.”
“Tell me, teacher,” he said.
41 “Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii,[a] and the other fifty. 42 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?”
43 Simon replied, “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt forgiven.”
“You have judged correctly,” Jesus said.
44 Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45 You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. 46 You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. 47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”
48 Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”
49 The other guests began to say among themselves, “Who is this who even forgives sins?”
50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”
Let’s discuss the two women who worshiped and anointed the feet of Jesus. The Bible tells us two stories about a woman who had anointed the head and feet of Jesus in the four gospels. She is described as a sinful woman. In the biblical days, a sinful woman was known to be a prostitute. Mary Magdalene was a prostitute who was possessed with seven demons that Jesus had cast out of her.
Jesus is found ministering in a town throughout the northern region of Nain and Capernaum that’s by the sea of Galilee. He gets invited to eat at the house of Simon the Pharisee. John 11:2 identifies her as Mary Bethany, sibling of Lazareth and Martha. Mary is known as someone who loved worshipping at the feet of Jesus. She came doing an honorable deed for what the Lord has done for her. She’s a sinner who manifested the power of forgiveness.
John 12:3-9 King James Version
12 Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
2 There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.
3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, which should betray him,
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.
8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always.
9 Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.
They take a bottle of expensive oil call Spikenard, Nard, and know in our time it is known as Lavandula, or Levander.
Songs of Solomon 1:12 NIV says, “While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.”
Song of Solomon 4:13 New King James Version says, “13 Your plants are an orchard of pomegranates
With pleasant fruits, Fragrant henna with spikenard.”
This plant is mentioned in the Bible several times and how Jesus’ heads and feet were anointed before His crucifixion. Spikenard or Nard is found in the Himalayas mountains and used to make essential oils. Spikenard, a romantic oil, was used by the Romans for medicinal use and the Jews used it for burial. Royal families and high priests used it as a massage oil. They will cover their whole bodies with oil to be healed and purified.
Let’s talk about the benefits of lavender which is good for respiratory problems, urinary tract infections, lower blood pressure, relax and calming the body from insomnia, anxiety, depression. It’s also good for the outer immune system, healing herpes, chickenpox, alopecia, muscle spams, liver problems, gallbladder, hemorrhoids, wound care sores, and cancer in the lymphatic system. Also, some lavender is used in cooking, baking cakes, and pies, etc.
When Mary Magdalene anointed the head and the feet of Jesus, she thought about His love, gratitude, and the time when she was accused of adultery. She was a prostitute caught in the act of adultery and Jesus came to her rescue. He talked down on her level and wrote on the ground. He said, “Is there anyone without sin cast the first stone.” When the people began to think about it, they all dropped their rocks and departed. Jesus said to Mary Magdalene, “Woman your sins have been forgiven.”
Some people said she had a mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar, and multi personalities due to demons. Her story reminds me of a movie called, “Sybil,” I had to watch when I was taking Psychology. The movie was also remade and called Frankie that featured Halle Berry. She had multi personalities and went to see a psychiatrist who helped her face every demonic spirit that possessed her.
Mary Magdalene came into contact with the power of Jesus and received her healing. She knew the woman she was in the past and did not want to stay there. God touched her, her sins were forgiven, and she was delivered from 7 demonic spirits haunting her and causing her to act insane.
When we want something from God, we don’t have to fake it until we make it. We just have to get closer to God and get in His presence, so He can bring manifestations in our lives. Declare, “I’m not what they may say that I am, but I am who God says I am.”
I can recall a sermon by Bishop Emanuel Hardison. He preached, “How bad do you want it?” If you want the things of God bad enough, you have to change your circle or the people around you.
There must be a separation of the chaff from the wheat. The chaff comes to seek, kill, destroy, and tear down but the wheat must be watered. Some plant and some water, but God brings the increase.
I bow down on my knees to my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ. I offer my gratitude and appreciation for all the things that He delivered me from. Many times I could have been dead and He saved me.
Once God told me that He was broken curses such as poverty and sugar diabetes and manifesting the power of His glory. Jesus took 39 lashes which represents sickness. I prophesy that the sicknesses are not unto death because God will deliver His people. Watch God manifest His glory in your life.
Declare, “In 2022, I will no longer be weighed down by baggage.”
Isaiah 53:5 says, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
We are healed from our past, present, and future. Jesus took our pain and sorrow. He did it because He knew beforehand what we were about to go through.
Jesus said, “We are overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the words of our testimony.” There’s power in our words. We can have what we say we can have and do what we said we can do. We are committed to bring fame to His name and glory to His heart. The Father desires to see His sons and daughters prosper and be in good health even as our souls prosper.
I’m pregnant with purpose. When God created me, He created me in His image and likeness. Everything concerning my life must come to pass. What God placed in the inside of me must come to fruition.
Jeremiah 29:11-12 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you saith the Lord. Thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Call upon me. You shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. You shall seek me and find me when you search for me with all of your heart.”
Declare: I come in the volume of the book as it is written to allow God to have His way. I come to change what they may have been saying about me. I come to change what people have spoken against me. I’m not what man said that I am, but I am beautiful. I am what God designed me to be. It may not look like it, but it shall come to pass. For it is the heart of the Father to grant us the desire of what He had planned for us. He has apprehended me so that I can receive His desires. His desire is not for us to struggle but to be who He created us. Jesus comes to deliver you from the wrath of Satan. God is sending his angels to watch over His Word.
