There is a movie called “Joni.” The movie is based on true events. It is about a woman who went swimming out in the lake with a couple of her friends, and as she dove down into the water, she wound up breaking her neck at the age of 17. That accident caused her to become paralyzed and unable to walk again. The movie tells her story of what it was like during her trial and tribulation when she met a man by the name of Jesus. Even though she suffered this life-altering accident, she learned how to paint with her mouth. She found strength and faith in Jesus.

This movie reminded me of my encounter when I received Jesus as Lord of my life. I learned how to depend on Jesus. I learned how to wait on Him. I now have such joy. He has delivered me from all storms.

I learned several years ago when I had a car accident that you don’t always have to pray aloud. All it takes is to start a conversation with God and talk to Him as if you were talking to your mother or your best friend. He’s waiting and listening to hear your voice. It doesn’t matter if you can’t speak out loud because we have to realize not everybody may be able to talk. You might be mute and can’t speak. In such a case, you can use your gifts and talents to worship God, as Joni learned to do in the movie. If you get your mind on Jesus and talk to Him, you will be led into praise and worship. You can then say, “Oh Lord, I love you, and I thank You for being my ABBA, Father God.” It is a privilege and an honor to be able to call on the name of the Lord. When we acknowledge that Jesus is Lord and Savior and there is none other, nothing stays the same. There’s nothing that can compare to His glory and love. Yes, I may be married and have a husband, but my love for Jesus can never be compared. God’s love is that agape love. It’s a love that will never fail. The love of Father God will never leave, nor will He walk away from you. He will never turn a deaf ear toward you. He may not talk to you all the time when you want Him to, but he’s always listening. Can I get somebody to just love on him?

There was this commercial I used to love to watch back in 1979. It says that eating a York Peppermint Patty is like the sensation of a cool breeze blowing through your hair. When I think about Jesus, I get this sensational fire going through my body. I know that it’s the anointing that is on my life. I can feel the fire come down! God has made man a little bit lower than the Angels. The angels of God are ministering spirits that are assigned to guide and protect us. As God’s chosen vessels, we are likened to a flame of fire, for we possess the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the CEO, the founder and the perfecter of our faith. He’s God, and He alone can set us on the right track. He will cause our faith to go from glory to glory and from faith to faith. He is God Almighty, and He takes us up to another level.

Hebrews 1:7 (KJV) says, “And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers as a flame of fire.”

I will leave you with the following scriptures to meditate on. I pray that as you read and reflect on this article that your thirst and intimacy with God will grow stronger and that you will say just as I have, “Oh! How I Long to Be Like Him.”
