I will share my testimony from my book, “I Almost Died,” to set the captives free. Before I share the fullest of my story, let’s look at the Word of God first to gain a greater understanding.

Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

The Book of Revelation is about Jesus Christ. John is the appointed one who’s speaking on Jesus’ behalf. He is God’s chosen vessel for this assignment. “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”

Revelation 10:11 reminds us to cry out to the Lord for sin and shame to come to an end so God can judge and avenge our adversaries.

Matthew 12:36 reminds us on the day of judgment that people will give account for every careless word they speak.

It’s only a test. In other words, your testimony is the key to your breakthrough for salvation and strength. You will see God do the supernatural so His Kingdom will come alive in your life. We all go through storms and some things are caused by strangers and by those we have intimate relationships with, such as a spouse, children, cousins, co-workers, etc.

Satan is the accuser of the brethren. He comes to accuse us before Christ constantly all day as he did in the Book of Job. Satan asked God to allow him to test Job.

Job 1:6-9 says, “6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them. 7 The LORD said to Satan, “From where you have come?” Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and from on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” 8 And the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” 9 Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason?”

Satan appeared before God in a courtroom.  At an appointed time, we give an account to God for our actions. The enemy is a roaring lion seeking his prey.  He tries to get us to curse God, lose trust and faith in God. Revelation 20:1- 21 reminds us that the devil is coming to an end real soon.

We are overcomers by the word of our testimony. We overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the words of our testimony. God is faithful and loving. Keep believing and trusting God. We’ll stand through every test and trial if we continue to keep our eyes on Him.

Isaiah 26:2–4 says, “Open ye the gates, That the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.  3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee:  Because he trusteth in thee. 4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever:”

Satan’s imps will try to plant a seed in your mind that your testimony does not matter. Meditate on Isaiah 26:3 and testify how the blood will cover and protect us. We must seek God for direction,  look for His love, and stay in  His will. Never put the cart before the horse.

Satan is the god of the underworld. He represents total darkness. John 10:10 says, “The thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy but Jesus came to give life more abundantly.” On page 66 in the book, “I Almost Died,” Prophetess Allena Douglas BRATHWAITE states that we must make a conscious decision as to whom we are going to serve and live for: God or Baal (the devil).

This book is the same one that I co-authored with Kimberly Moses and others. On page 139, I speak on domestic violence. I was in love with a stripper and making good money in the carpenters union. We need to discern if we are suffering from the lust of the eye and the pride of life. I wrote about the warning signs that I ignored and the lessons I learned. Warning signs are there to protect you from harm and death. I was so in love with this stripper that I called Dionne Warwick’s psychic line, thinking she could help. All that did was open up gates to the demonic world of darkness. When you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you can sometimes find yourself doing foolish things and calling it wise.

You cannot force anyone to love you. If they don’t want to, you’re just wasting your time and energy. When someone wants to leave, let them go. When we’re not in God, we do not realize how much we are surrounded by total darkness. On page 140, I struggle to connect to a God I have never known. I only heard about him and I wondered what He wanted with someone like me. In the process of finding the light (Jesus), I ran into a group of Black Jews standing on 42nd Street in Times Square, New York City. I was deceived for a period because I thought they were preaching the true gospel. During this time, I was living in Crown Heights in Brooklyn, New York. The grim reaper came to my house one day while I was home alone listening to Christian gospel music. I never saw his face. I saw a black cake walking down my hallway. I heard a loud sound of my dishes breaking in the kitchen. The cabinets had opened up and the plates and glasses fell to the floor. Terrified, I said, “Flee from me in the name of Jesus.” He responded and laughed, “You have no power,” then walked away.

Acts 19:15–16 says, “15 And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” 16 Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.”

Even though I was listening to gospel music, I wasn’t saved, so I was serving the devil unaware. Satan cannot cast out Satan. You have to saved and have a relationship with God to operate in His authority and power. God is love and through Jesus, we overcome the power of darkness.

Mark 3:23–28 says, “23 So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end. 27 No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.”

Matthew 12:26 says, “And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?”

Apostle Paul was blind temporarily for persecuting the children of God. It is dangerous to come up against a man or a woman of God because God will revenge their adversaries. After God restored Apostle Paul’s sight, He became a phenomenal man of God. He overcame by the blood of the lamb and the word of his testimony. He was shipwrecked, falsely accused, arrested, and persecuted for the love of Christ. Everything that we go through is to testify of Jesus (Immanuel) being with us.

Satan is always going to God as a tattle tail complaining about what we are not doing right. The book of Matthew reminds us that we must agree with the adversary quickly. We must confess our faults and wrongs so when the devil goes to God concerning us, he can hold nothing over of heads. God is all-knowing. As you read the Book of Acts and see everything Apostle Paul went through, know that God was glorified. The same applies to us. Apostle Paul demonstrated healing, miracles, signs, and wonders. He also cut up aprons and handkerchiefs and anointed them, then give them to the sick. We can boast that if it had not been for the Lord, who was on our side, the enemy could have swallowed and subdued us. We should’ve been dead. But God! His grace is sufficient.

Romans 15 :17 says, “Therefore in Christ Jesus, I have found a reason for boasting in thanks pertaining to God.”

1 Corinthians 1:31 says, “So that just as it is written let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

Psalms 34:2 says, “My soul will make its boast in the Lord the humble will hear it and rejoice.”

Psalms 44:8 says, “In God we have both all day long and we will give thanks to your name forever.”

Psalms 20: 7 says, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.”

Hebrews 3:6 says, “but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.”

Philippians 3:3 says, “For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.”

Galatians 6:14 says, “But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”

Jeremiah 9:24 says, “But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord.”

2 Corinthians 12:1 says, “It is doubtless not profitable for me to boast. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord:”
